We have now commenced the move of all sites and DNS to our new servers.  Further updates will be given as we progress through the move.

A backup of the mail server has now commenced and mail is being delivered to our backup mail server

Helm has now been closed and will remain so until the server move is complete.

Final notice of downtime

This is the final notice of this evenings downtime associated with the server move to our new data centre location in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

All of the servers are now fully prepared and we are in the final stages of testing to ensure the move goes smoothly.  Below is a very rough timetable of events and the expected downtimes:

4PM: Access to Helm will be stopped until the move is complete to allow us to start migrating data
6PM: Email services will stop and email will be delivered to our backup mail server whilst the move is progressing
8PM: Web/FTP/Database services will stop and data migrated to our new servers

We expect the move to be completed in full by around 3/4AM tomorrow morning but please note that this is NOT a guaranteed time but an estimate.  We will be sending a further email once the move has completed.

Throughout the move, our status page at www.openmindstatus.com will be constantly updated with the latest developments so you are strongly encouraged to bookmark this site so you have access to the latest information.

Our helpdesk and telephone lines will be closing at 4PM and will remain closed until 12PM tomorrow afternoon.  This will include the critical support line so please refrain from calling us until that time.

After 12PM on Saturday please do contact us via the support desk, www.openmindsupport.com , of any issues that you are experiencing after the move.  You are encouraged to use the facility where you can set the severity of your problem to allow us to prioritise issues but please be diligent in its use.

Finally may we thank you for your patience during this move, an expansion of this size is not without its complications but the net result will be a faster more stable network that will easily accommodate future expansion plans for our service.

Helm Database Upgrade

Helm will be unavailable for about 30 minutes whilst we carry out the database upgrade that was planned for yesterday evening.

Saturn Webserver

We are currently aware on an issue with the Saturn web server and are currently awaiting a manual reboot of the server to try and rectify the problem.

More information will be posted when available.

 **UPDATE** 18:17 – The saturn web server is now running as normal.

Mailserver Maintenance

The primary mailserver will be unavailable for about 20 minutes whilst we upgrade the software to the latest release of SmarterMail.

During this period mail will be delivered to our backup mail server and, once the upgrade is complete, will then be delivered to your account as normal.

 **UPDATE** – 12:37pm – This work has now been completed and messages in the backup mail server will be delivered shortly.
